It was a pleasure and inspiration to be part of Maria McManus’ LabelLit project for Poetry Day Ireland during 2017 and 2018. The project involves poets internationally and I’m delighted to be part of the project again this year.
I posted labels around the city of Liverpool, focusing on The Mersey. Lines were from my first pamphlet, including a lullaby to the Mersey.
I was able to travel and post further afield for Poetry Day, Ireland in 2018, and posted Coast to Coast to Coast between Tarset, Northumberland, and Liverpool via Newcastle, and London! I posted labels with lines from my poem et spiritus which is based on Rossetti’s painting, Dante’s Dream.
This year, Maria has further developed the LabelLit project, including an interactive map and sound recordings of the poems featured on the labels, click the image below to explore.
