I shared seven works as part of the Places of Poetry project.

The map has grown into a rich resource, which uses creative writing as a mode of reflection, to think about and encounter national and cultural identities in England and Wales, celebrating the diversity, heritage and personalities of place.

On July 11th, it was my pleasure, at the invitation of Pauline Rowe, to read with Sean Hewitt to an attentive and interesting audience at Open Eye Gallery. Music was provided by Julia.

About the initiative: "From Season of mists to golden daffodils; Robbie Burns to Roger McGough and songs to limericks. Each year on National Poetry Day we celebrate all things in verse whether they rhyme or not. This year, as part of a nationwide campaign, we've teamed up with local poets around the country to celebrate where we live in verse." 

Readings from works inspired by Victorian art followed by a workshop making use of works from the Victorian Dreamers exhibition to provide starting points for writing. 

The Atkinson

A reading of works inspired by the Walker Art Gallery collection was followed by a workshop making use of works in the gallery to provide starting points for work based on the idea of addressing a character or artist.
